You are eligible for visa free entry
Each visit gives you 90 days, which covers just about any holiday or short business trip comfortably. The moment you start thinking about working or studying there, tourist entry no longer applies - South Africa has a separate temporary residence permit process for that.
Your passport is what gets you through. The DNI works brilliantly within MERCOSUR countries, but South Africa sits well outside that agreement, so it won't be accepted here. On passport validity - South Africa only requires it to cover 30 days beyond your return date, which is actually lighter than what most long-haul destinations demand. Even so, renew early if yours is running low.
South Africa requires travellers arriving from Argentina to present a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate. Failure to provide one may result in refusal of entry or quarantine measures at the border.
Valid for at least 30 days after your planned return from South Africa. Keep it accessible throughout your trip, not buried at the bottom of your bag
Non-negotiable for travelers coming from Argentina. Get vaccinated well before your departure date and carry the original certificate with your travel documents - don't leave this to the last minute.
A return ticket or confirmed booking that shows you're leaving within 90 days. Officers at the border don't always ask for it, but the times they do, and you don't have it ready, are genuinely awkward. Keep it on your phone or printed.
A hotel reservation, rental booking confirmation, or host invitation containing the address is generally sufficient.
Evidence that you can financially support yourself during your stay, such as recent bank statements, cash, or a valid credit card.
Medical expenses can be significant, so comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.
