You are eligible for visa free entry
Argentine citizens can generally stay in Paraguay visa-free for up to 90 days per visit.
Your Argentine DNI is accepted at the border in place of a passport. It's one of the genuine perks of MERCOSUR membership, and it makes spontaneous trips across the border far easier than flying internationally. That said, if your travel continues beyond Paraguay into countries outside the bloc, bring your passport anyway - you'll need it the moment you leave the region.
If you're using a passport, ensure it remains valid for the duration of your trip. Having at least six months of validity remaining is recommended.
Either document works at the border. The DNI is perfectly sufficient for a straightforward tourist visit. If you're carrying both, even better - keep them somewhere easy to reach rather than buried in your bag.
A return flight or any confirmed booking showing you're leaving Paraguay within your allowed time. Border officials don't always ask, but when they do, having it on your phone or printed saves a frustrating conversation.
A hotel confirmation, rental booking, or an invitation from whoever is hosting you, with their full address included. A forwarded email or a screenshot on your phone is fine - it doesn't need to be printed.
Recent bank statements, sufficient cash funds, or an active credit card may help demonstrate that you can support yourself during your stay.
Although not required, travel insurance is strongly recommended before departure.
