You are eligible for visa free entry
Argentine passport holders can stay in Iceland visa-free for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. Iceland is part of the Schengen Area, so this counter is shared across all member states - days spent in Spain, France, or anywhere else in the zone count toward the same limit.
Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure date from Iceland. Six months of remaining validity is the safer buffer and what most travellers aim for.
An Argentine passport that meets the validity requirement above, with enough blank pages left for entry and exit stamps at the Icelandic border.
Immigration officers want to see a confirmed ticket showing you're leaving before your allowed stay runs out. A return flight to Buenos Aires or any onward booking does the job - just keep the confirmation easy to pull up.
A hotel booking confirmation, a short-term rental reservation, or a written invitation from someone hosting you in Iceland with their full address is generally accepted as proof of accommodation.
You should be able to show you can cover your own stay without difficulty. A recent bank statement, credit card, or other proof of sufficient funds is usually sufficient.
Travel Insurance is not mandatory for Argentine citizens entering Iceland visa-free, but comprehensive medical coverage is strongly recommended.
ETIAS is currently expected to launch in late 2026, though the timeline may change. Until it officially launches, Argentines can enter Iceland and the broader Schengen Area without any advance online authorisation. Check the official EU ETIAS portal before you book, since timing may shift.
