Up to 90 days within any 180-day rolling period. Keep in mind this counts across all Schengen countries together, not just Hungary - days spent in Italy or France before arriving in Budapest all come off the same clock.
Your passport needs to be valid for at least three months beyond the date you plan to leave the Schengen Area - not just the day you fly into Hungary. It also has to have been issued within the last ten years, so it's worth checking both things before you even look at flights.
A valid, machine-readable Argentine passport is what gets you through. Just make sure it clears the three-month validity rule and hasn't passed its ten-year issue window.
A confirmed return ticket or any outbound flight leaving the Schengen Area is what border officers want to see. It's straightforward proof that you're not planning to overstay.
A hotel confirmation or a note from whoever you're staying with is enough. It does not need to be complicated, but you should be able to provide evidence of where you will stay during your visit.
While border officials do not always ask for it from visa-exempt travelers, Schengen-compliant travel insurance with coverage of at least €30,000 for medical emergencies is strongly recommended.
