The application is fully online, costs an official €7, and once approved, stays valid for three years or until your passport expires - whichever comes first.
Border officers at Finnish entry points will want to see a confirmed ticket showing your departure from the Schengen Area before your authorized stay expires. A return flight or any onward booking works - just have the confirmation accessible on your phone or printed.
A hotel booking confirmation, an Airbnb reservation, or a written invitation from a host in Finland with their full address is generally accepted as proof of accommodation.
Travelers should be able to demonstrate sufficient funds for their stay. Finland has previously used a guideline of approximately €50 per day, plus enough to cover your return or onward journey. A recent bank statement or an accessible credit card handles this in seconds at the border.
Not a hard requirement for visa-exempt travellers, but Finnish border officials can ask for proof of medical coverage during your stay. A policy that covers emergency treatment and repatriation is worth carrying regardless.
